Overview

Firstoff you will need a Qi charging coil. I used this one from amazon but any similar one will do. You will need to remove some of the plastic coverings, so that the coil can fit into the device without creating a bump. Additionally, you will have to cut away the micro USB port, as you will need the respective cables to solder them into the kindle. Make sure you keep track of which is the + and which is the -. The rest of the process if relatively straightforward

You can open up the Kindle Paperwhite using this ifixit guide. After opening it up and before soldering in the cables for the Qi charger, make sure you’ve matched up the + and the -.

A few additional notes:

• make sure the Qi charging coil and the electronics are kept isolated
• route your cables before soldering them on
• place your cables between the shieldings, otherwise you will have trouble closing the Kindle
